About This Course:

Istanbul Academy of Sciences is introducing Ottoman Culture and History distance learning module. The program will be held between  March 20 and April 30.

This 6 week Ottoman Turkish course is aimed at students who would like to learn Ottoman Turkish Language basics.

This course uses reference materials, cultural notes, grammar explanations, functions of language, etc. Students will be able to monitor their progress by taking a number of performance tests and a final achievement test.

Program will continue for 6 weeks and lectures will be on  Tuseday and Friday starts at 20.00 p.m. Lectures are going to be 2 sessions (50 x 2 = minutes) at specified time, students can attend by logging into the system with their passwords. Students have opportunity to watch lectures videos after the live courses.

Successful students will receive a certificate.

What You’ll Learn:

  • The alphabet and numbers
  • Writing a Turkish words in Ottoman Turkish
  • Basic words of Ottoman Language
  • Basic grammatical structures

Target Group:

Foreign students, undergraduate or graduate, who is going to make academic research on Ottoman History, Ottoman and Turkish Languages, Anatolia, Balkans , and Middle East.

Program will be held Turkish and English will be used as secondary language for resources. Students are expected to have a good level of Turkish skills.
